Feature films are some of the most challenging projects to work on because of their massive scale, high cost, intricate logistics and demanding filming schedule. I’ve made four so far, winning quite a few awards around the film circuit and at festivals.

The doctor is in

There’s no better way to sell an idea or product than with life’s best medicine, laughter. However, comedy is a hard nut to crack. Tone is critical. If you hit the wrong note, you’ll lose half your audience. Get it right and it’s the most powerful tool in your box. A skilled comedy director understands the perfect balance of taste and humour, recognising the boundaries of each client (this can vary massively depending on culture, religion, context, etc).

Artists come in many shapes and sizes. Not just visually but also in the energy, interpretation and musical expression they bring to a performance. Capturing what is quintessential about them, their essence as a performer, is the true skill of any great music video director.
